Como Quisiera Decirte, Los Angeles Negros (1970)

[FR] Los Angeles Negros est un groupe chilien formé en 1967 à l’initiative de Mario Gutiérrez, premier guitariste du groupe. Le chant est quant à lui mené de voix de maître par Germaín de la Fuente. Le groupe se fait remarquer en remportant un radio-crochet avec leur premier single : “Porqué te quiero”. En 1969, ils sont des stars dans toute l’Amérique latine grâce à un premier album qui sera largement distribué. Un an plus tard et suite à une tournée triomphante, ils enregistrent leur second album, celui de tous les tubes.

On y trouve “Y Volveré” (le titre de l’album), une chanson écrite par le français Alain Barrière, ainsi que “Como Quisiera Decirte” qui illustre de belle manière les qualités vocales du chanteur, et dont le riff au synthétiseur a plusieurs fois été samplé pour des titres rap. Ce sont d’ailleurs Los Angeles Negros que l’on retrouve à la fin du titre “The Move” des Beastie Boys chantant “Hubo una vez un gran rey que tenia muchas tierras, un castillo y también un amor” sur leur cinquième album Hello Nasty.

[EN] Los Angeles Negros are a Chilean band formed in 1967 by Mario Gutiérrez, the band’s first guitar, while Germaín de la Fuente is on vocals. The band turns out to draw attention to itself as they won a talent show with their first single: “Porqué te quiero”. In 1969, they are celebrities in the whole Latin America thanks to their widely distributed first album. A year later and after a triumphant tour, they release their second LP.

It features a lot of their major hits: “Y Volveré”, a song written by the French Alain Barrière and also “Como Quisiera Decirte” that illustrates the singer’s great vocals and which synthesizer riff has been sampled on a few rap records. Moreover, that’s Los Angeles Negros that we can hear on Beastie Boys‘s track “The Move” singing “Hubo una vez un gran rey que tenia muchas tierras, un castillo y también un amor” on their fifth LP.

[ES] Los Angeles Negros son una banda chilena formada en 1967 por el guitarrista Mario Gutiérrez y el cantante Germain de la Fuente. El grupo empieza a ganar popularidad después de ganar un show para nuevos talentos con su primer single “Porqué te quiero”. En 1969, se convierten en una auténtica celebridad por toda America Latina gracias a la distribución de su primer álbum.

Tras una gira exitosa, un año después editan su segundo larga duración, donde aparecen la mayor parte de sus hits: “Y Volveré”, una canción compuesta por el francés Alain Barrière, y también “Como Quisiera Decirte” el tema que ilustra la voz del cantante de bella manera y con riffs sampleados de grabaciones raperas. A Los Angeles Negros podemos escucharlos también en el tema “The Move” de los Beastie Boys, cantando “Hubo una vez un gran rey que tenia muchas tierras, un castillo y también un amor”.
