[FR] Kero One est un de ces “touche-à -tout” du hip-hop : MC, DJ, producteur et patron de l’écurie Plug Label. Grand collectionneur de disques, il fit son éducation en regardant des vidéos de Qbert, Babu et Shortkut avant de passer lui-même derrière les platines. Très habitué des studios, Kero One a aussi parcouru les scènes du monde entier aux côtés de DJ renommés comme Kentaro, Cash Money ou encore Young Einstein (DJ d’Ugly Duckling).
Check The Blueprints est l’un de ses premiers maxis paru en 2003 et issu de son premier album Windmills Of The Soul (sorti trois ans plus tard). Jazz, soul, hip-hop et funk sont les quatre éléments clés de cet album faisant de lui un proche cousin des Tribe Called Quest ou Jazzmatazz. Le hip-hop y est jazzy et le flow impeccable. Un bel hommmage au hip-hop et à ses racines.
Son nouvel album Early Believers est sorti le 7 avril. A écouter rapidement !
[EN] Kero One has always dabbled in a lot of hip-hop things: MC, DJ, producer and boss of Plug Label. He is a great record collector and got educated by watching turntables tapes featuring guys such as Qbert, Babu and Shortkut before he started deejaying. Kero One is of course a regular in recording studios but has also toured all over the world with famous DJs Kentaro, Cash Money or Young Einstein (Ugly Duckling).
Check The Blueprints is one of his first EP released in 2003. The track also appears on his first LP Windmills Of The Soul (released in 2006). Jazz, soul, hip-hop and funk are the four sails of this album so that it sounds like Tribe Called Quest or Jazzmatazz. A great tribute to hip-hop and its roots.

L’album “Windmills of the soul” dans son intégralité mérite un grand détour, long et répété. Du hip hop qui se déguste, légèrement, avec quelques rayons de soleil.
