[FR] Il y a 30 ans Sylvia Robinson, une chanteuse et productrice new-yorkaise, flairait le gros coup commercial et réunissait trois rappeurs amateurs (Wonder Mike, Big Bank Hank et Master Gee) pour former Sugarhill Gang et enregistrer Rapper’s Delight. Sorti en 1979 sur le label Sugarhill Records et considéré par certains comme le premier single hip-hop, ce titre samplé de Good Times (du groupe Chic) est devenu aujourd’hui l’un des plus grands tubes de l’histoire du rap et s’est déjà vendu à plusieurs millions d’exemplaires.
Pour fêter cela, Dan The Automator vient de sortir un remix du titre avec Chali 2Na (Jurassic 5) et Domino/Casual (Hieroglyphics) et organise un concours de remix. This hit has been released in 1979 on the Sugarhill Records and is often cited as the first hip-hop single. Rapper’s Delight sampled Good Times (by Chic) and became a worldwide hit selling millions copies.
