[FR] Sorti hier, le nouveau maxi du frenchy Wax Tailor, “Say-Yes”, est tout simplement dans la digne lignée de son travail. Il enregistre une fois de plus avec les anglais de ASM (A State of Mind) qui avaient participé au maxi “Positively Inclined” sur Hope & Sorrow, le précédent album de Wax.
Ce maxi vient prévenir l’arrivée de In The Mood For Life à paraître en Septembre. Mais la grande nouveauté est sa distribution en CD-vinyle : une face CD et une autre vinyl où l’on ajoute un petit ustensile pour le caler sur sa platine. Cela relève plus d’un gadget et un clin d’œil aux DJs qu’autre chose, même Wax est un poil déçu : “L’objet est chouette et amusant mais le pressage de la face vinyle est très en dessous de ce qu’on peut attendre d’un vinyle digne de ce nom”.
Bref, un titre entrainant composé d’une bande-son jazzy et d’un flow hip-hop aussi bien mariés que sur un bon Kero One. A découvrir en live à partir d’octobre aux US et en Europe. Say What? Say Yes!.

This EP announces In The Mood For Life, coming out in September. But the originality is the distribution with a new support, the CD-Vinyl: a side for the CD track and an other for the turntable, with an accessory to place it. It is more a gadget and a wink to DJs than anything else, Wax is even a bit disappointed: “the object is cool and funny but the vinyl side itself is not as good as what we expect of a real vinyl”.
