[FR] Personne n’a pu ignorer l’info, Michael Jackson nous a quittés ce jeudi. Chanteur unique, danseur hors-paire, il a abattu les barrières, transcendé les genres et réuni tous les publics. Mieux que quiconque, il a su synthétiser la musique de ses racines afro-américaines et la pop blanche, dans la droite lignée de la Motown, sa première maison de disques. Plus gros vendeur de disques, inventeur du clip musical, il domina une industrie du disque dont il maîtrisait tous les codes. Ses disques, ses clips et ses spectacles ont fait vibrer des millions de gens, et, très probablement, continueront à le faire pour de nombreuses années. Sa disparition, comme lui, semble bien irréelle. On avait, tous, une part de Michael Jackson en nous.
Il est temps, à présent, de rendre hommage à ce talent unique en commençant par cette superbe reprise du “Ain’t No Sunshine” de Bill Withers, première piste du tout premier album de sa discographie solo, Got To Be There, paru en 1972 chez Motown.

[EN] No one could have possibly ignored this information, Michael Jackson passed away last Thursday. A unique singer, an outstanding dancer, he pulled down barriers, went beyond genres and gathered millions of people from many different backgrounds. As noone did before, he synthesized black music and pop music, as Motown, his first record label with the Jackson 5 was willing to. Biggest selling artist of all time, inventor of music videos, he dominated the musical industry of which he knew about every aspect. His discs, videos and live performances entertained millions of people around the globe and, most likely, will keep doing so for many years. His death seems, as he was, unreal. We all had a bit of Michael Jackson in us.
It is now time to pay a tribute to this brilliant, unique, tremendous talent. Let’s begin with this beautiful cover of Bill Wither’s “Ain’t No Sunshine“, the first track on the first album of his solo discography, Got To Be There, released in 1972 on Motown.
