→ This week! After a summer break, excited to get back at it for a new season! Amazing EP by British rapper Rarelyalways alongside US singer Nia J with the banger "Paid". The whole EP is really worth it! UK multidisciplinary artist Brian Nasty released the soulful, drums heavy "Belly Of The Beast" on Big Dada. We love those drums! Disrupta releases a great jungle remix from the 2020 track "soulboy" by p-rallel and Greentea Peng on Different Recordings. Travelling back in time to 1978 with the soul-funk track "Survive" by Lebron Brothers, as well as the latin soul "Hola Muchacho / Hey Boy", a song by Carole King and Gerry Goffin from 1968. If anyone knows who's the singer on that track, I'd be happy to hear!

UK artist Tigerbalm teams up with Italian, Naples based producer and singer Giorgio Lopez on the italo track "Nayar". More from Italy with "Ritmo Italiano" by producer and percussionist Gabriele Poso, out from his great compilation Ritmo Italiano – Unspoken Sounds of Italian Tamburo, celebrating the rhythmic traditions of Italy, spanning the 60s-90s era, out on Mr Bongo! Keeping the latin vibes, back in time with the funky latin pop of Puerto Rican via NYC Vitin Aviles, "La Persona Importante", a song by one of the most prolific latin songwriter of the 70s, Tite Curet Alonso and produced by Joe Cain, out on Alegre Records in 1974. Wrapping up the week with the great Machito with his Afro Cubans, with the mambo classic "Tremendo Cuban", released back in 1954 on the Tropical label. Enjoy!
